The departure of the letters X and X created a temporary darkness, now filled by the sudden appearance of an X (ex)'s made out of small suspended cones, reminiscent of old time core memory, wire-bound inside the earliest computers. In that time of hand-made electronics, there were so few bits that each had a given name, and we could know them all.
