Jacob is staring out through the glass at very bright lights shining on the ocean floor, burning over the iron skin of the bathysphere. That's how Jacob got here, dropped down in a capsule suspended by cables from a hive floating on the surface far above this garden floor.     I couldn't go beyond the perimeter of the acre. So I went indoors.
