Not the sort to take too long a break,  Jacob  feels more at  maison  with himself now that the  casque  is back on, and that unthinking lunch time is gone. If he would just take a moment, sit there a  jour , two days, an enforced vacation, perhaps he might get a different biochemical perspective on the mandates of his consciousness, and just take off that  costume  (this is his last chance), and  tête  back to work, or the hospital, or church, or school, or just into the  ville , which has all these and lots of nice stores to look into also.
