Step by step, frame by frame, careful all the time not to step on the crack between the frames. ジェイコブ has a pretty simple method for keeping track of the 数 of steps he takes (as a safety precaution, so he can find his way back if he has to). One to Ten, he uses his fingers to do that. After the first Ten, he closes his right 目, and counts to Ten again. Then he closes his right 目. For Forty, he touches his tongue to the 部屋 of his 口, and closes his left 目. Using such ticks, he figures he can count to a million (hopping on one foot, both 目（複） closed, elbows at his sides, tongue touching his back molar, etc).
