The monitor on the left is the Preview Monitor... though this he is allowed to see secret sights and events that never make it to air, or to our eyes. On the right is the program monitor, on which he can see what we see, which is the back of his head. In some other cell or shot, you may come across a picture that inspired Ella Spiralum... a picture of a man using a television to transmit a picture of the back of his head all the around the world, to the screen in front of his eyes.     That evening, Melissa and I watched the shuttle on television.
