Many people at the consoles at the mission control center for the shuttle. The world is in front of them on tv. Or, at least, the back of Ronald Reagan's head. N.B. Lady MacBeth was only Mr. MacBeth's stage wife. In real life he had a cousin named Ronald, and a wife named Matilda. In latter years, when Mr. MacBeth was wont to spend too many hours watching his cousin Ronald, the newly minted President of the United States (whose likeness could be see on the nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar, with only the penny and dollar reserved for future heroes) on the tv, Matilda would often come into the room and exclaim "What is this that I see before me!", giggling, quoting from the play that made her husband famous, and paid for this house and tv.
That evening, Melissa and I watched the shuttle on television.
