The monk walks from right to left, with the mountains very low in the frame. Counting his steps, each is a prayer, no time wasted on the road to Jerusalem (long road there, lots of time to perfect various thinking techniques).     It was a library-in-progress for the Russian Orthodox monks of St. Anthony.
